We’ve heard a rumor that we survived winter, that Spring is officially just days away, and that the sun will miraculously leap backward in its arc sometime during the night between Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Well, I find it kind of suspicious that it happens under the cover of darkness, and I’d really like to see it happen with my own eyes. But I do know that for some odd reason I can’t get my head around, we need to accommodate this mysterious cosmological shift by setting our clocks ahead one hour at exactly the same instant the sun jumps. Or whenever you get around to it.
For years now, we have been joining with our friends at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Emmanuel Lutheran Church for Wednesday evening soup suppers, followed by Lenten services. The suppers start at 5:30 p.m., and the services start at 6:30 p.m.. Our final combined service will be on Good Friday.
Here is the 2018 schedule:
Wednesday, Feb. 14 – Ash Wednesday service at Emmanuel Lutheran Church (this service starts at 7:00 p.m.)
